Symetra Develops Low-Cost Annuity

Symetra Life Insurance Co. has introduced a variable annuity, Symetra Focus, that features index investment options from Vanguard Group.

The product's structure and investment options are designed to help clients keep more of the returns generated by investments linked to the annuity, the Bellevue, Wash., company said Tuesday. Symetra Focus' average cost, including all available investment options, was 1.59%, or 36.6% less than the industry average.

The annuity also features a menu of exchange-traded funds.
