T. Rowe Price Group Inc., a Baltimore investment management company, announced that it had hired a Fidelity Investments executive to run its retirement plan services unit.

Cynthia Egan, who was an executive vice president at the Boston fund giant, fills a newly created post for the defined contribution market, T. Rowe said Tuesday.
Ms. Egan is to head an effort to supply investment management, record keeping, participant education, and compliance services to more than 2,900 plans.
