TD names retail and finance exec Mary Winston to U.S. board

Retail and financial executive Mary Winston has been elected to TD Bank’s U.S. board of directors.

Winston, currently the president and CEO of the board consulting firm WinsCo Enterprises in Charlotte, North Carolina, is the third woman and second African American to serve on TD’s nine-member U.S. board.

"We expect to leverage her diverse business experience, financial expertise and strategic insights as we continue to execute our U.S. growth strategy and strive to be the better bank," Greg Braca, president and CEO of the Toronto company's U.S. bank, said in a press release.

Mary Winston currently serves on the boards of Bed, Bath & Beyond and Chipotle Mexican Grill, and is president and CEO of the board consulting firm WinsCo Enterprises.

Winston has previously held roles as the interim CEO of Bed, Bath & Beyond and as chief financial officer at Family Dollar Stores, Giant Eagle and Scholastic. A certified public accountant, she currently serves on the boards of several public companies, including Bed, Bath & Beyond and Chipotle Mexican Grill.
