Tech Bytes: nCipher Names Exec For Worldwide Sales

Richard Kosinski has been named senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing at nCipher Inc., a leader in security systems for electronic commerce.

Mr. Kosinski is a veteran in the field, having "opened the U.S. market for a number of security companies and their products," said Alex van Someren, president and chief executive officer of nCipher, which has its roots in the United Kingdom.

One of Mr. Kosinski's roles will be general manager for nCipher's North American operations. He was most recently vice president and general manager at Security-7 Software Inc., an Israeli company that set up shop in Boston to sell security systems for active content software such as Java and Active-X.

He has also been president of Encotone Inc. and executive vice president of Netegrity Inc. From 1993 to 1995, he was CEO of Internet Security Corp., which he founded, in Lexington, Mass.
