Tech Bytes: Software Firm to Serve 1,500 Wells Brokers

Wells Fargo & Co. has signed up its 1,500 bank brokers for software and service from MoneyStar.

Wells Fargo Private Client Services will use the company's Lifescript 2.2 software, an interactive package meant to help brokers involve their clients in financial planning.

The brokers will also be connected to the MoneyStar Financial Network, which delivers mutual fund literature over the Internet.

MoneyStar's customers include California Federal Bank and Norwest Bank. Investment product suppliers including Franklin Templeton Funds, the New England, and Delaware Group supply product information to the MoneyStar Financial Network.

The service ensures that "the most current information will be available, allowing our representatives and their clients to make the best investment decisions," said Jamie Sawhill, senior vice president of sales strategies at Wells Fargo Private Client Services.

MoneyStar is a privately held company backed by venture capital.
