Texas Bank Adds Retail Remote Capture

First Command Financial Services Inc. in Fort Worth has begun offering remote deposit capture to retail customers of its First Command Bank unit.

The bank, which announced the service Monday, said it began offering it in October so as to speed up deposits by customers from outside the Fort Worth area. These customers would typically mail in their checks.

"Taking out the guesswork associated with deposits seems so simple, but it can be very helpful for customers in balancing their checkbooks, paying bills, and planning monthly budgets," David White, the bank's president, said in a press release.

The Deposits On Command service works with home computers and scanners and allows for same-day posting of deposits made by 4 p.m. Central time.

To qualify for the service, people must be a checking or money market savings customers in good standing for six months; have a credit card, loan, insurance, or investment product with First Command; use online banking; and receive online statements.
