ABILENE, Tex. -- Independent Bankshares Inc. said it has settled for $152,000 a lawsuit that investors had filed against the company and 22 directors of a former subsidiary. The holding company, which had $139 million in assets at midyear, said it will also pay $200,000 in legal fees and expenses of the former directors.
