Source: Sheshunoff Information Services Inc., Austin, Texas. Notes: Home Equity Lines are the amount outstanding under revolving,"open-end lines of credit secured by 1-4 family residential properties. All Other Consumer Loans include all loans to individuals for household, family, and other personal expenditures that are not secured by real estate. They generally include auto, boat, car, education, and credit cards loans or lines of credit. Credit card loans include extensions of credit to individuals arising from bank credit cards or special prearranged overdraft plans. Percent nonperforming includes the sum of past due loans and nonaccrual loans outstanding. Past due loans comprise all extension of credit via lending for which principal and or interest payments are delinquent by 90 days or more and remain on accrual. Nonaccrual loans reflect past due loans for which the bank has deemed that interest receivable is unlikely to be paid. Percent charged off includes all loans charged off during the calendar year. A charge off reflects an accounting write-off of loans deemed to be bad debt and are unlikely to be recovered. Compiled by American Banker, 1997 ===
