Union Bank of California Names Executive

Union Bank of California, San Francisco, 81% owned by Bank of Tokyo- Mitsubishi Ltd., has hired Julius E. Robinson as division manager for its Bay Area market.

The job makes him responsible for 12 branches-two in San Francisco, excluding the main branch there, and one each in Berkeley, Burlingame, Kentfield, Martinez, Oakland, Redwood City, San Carlos, San Leandro, Vallejo, and Walnut Creek.

Mr. Robinson will be a vice president.

He had been a Union Bank consultant for a year, developing sales training programs and market analyses. Before that he was regional sales manager at Home Savings of America, a district manager at Chase Manhattan Bank, and an installment lending manager at Union.

In his new job at Union he succeeded senior vice president Dale L. Jansen, who had been promoted to manager of the newly created Northern California business banking centers division. Mr. Jansen is also responsible for commercial real estate servicing for Union's community banking group.
