Union Bank of Florida in Plantation has promoted Lynne Wines to president and chief executive officer.

She succeeded John Chaperon, who will work for the $260 million-asset bank as a consultant on potential construction projects and new branch sites, a Union spokesman said.

Ms. Wines was executive vice president and chief operating officer. There are no plans to fill the latter post now, the bank said.

Earlier Ms. Wines was chief financial officer and senior vice president, and still earlier controller and a vice president.
