Though prepaid cards — particularly celebrity-endorsed prepaid cards like the short-lived Kardashian Kard — have come under fire for high fees, UniRush LLC says that their customers instead find they save money by using prepaid.
UniRush, founded by music mogul Russell Simmons, said that in a recent survey, 75% of customers reported saving $300 to $900 a year using the RushCard's money management tools. These tools allow users to set limits for spending in certain categories, including dining and utilities.
Forty-one percent of RushCard customers use the money management pages at least once a week, the survey found.
