Unisys inks contracts with 2 foreign banks.

Unisys Corp. has signed two contracts with foreign banks.

The Blue Bell, Pa.-based company signed a $12 million contract to design, develop, and implement a new branch banking system at the National & Provincial Building Society in the United Kingdom. The building society will use object-ori ented software called the FBA Navigator. It will be installed during 1995.

Separately, the Industrial Bank of Japan Trust Co. has purchased an international banking system to support its cash management and demand deposit accounting activities. Based in New York, IBJTC is a subsidiary of the Industry Bank of Japan Limited, the world's 11th largest bank.

The subsidiary, with $5.1 billion in assets, specializes in providing banking services to multinational firms.

The Unisys system, which will be interfaced with an internally developed accounting system, is scheduled to be implemented by mid-1995.

FBA Urbis is a Unix-based system that supports corporate banking, treasury, commercial lending, off balance sheet trading and retail banking.
