U.S. Bancorp annexes 29 B of A branches.

PORTLAND, Ore. -- U.S. Bancorp said it completed its acquisition of 29 branches in Nevada that were divested in the wake of the Security Pacific Corp. merger with Bank America Corp.

The acquisitions left U.S. Bank of Nevada as the third-largest full-service bank in the state, with $800 million in deposits, or 9.5% of the state's total.

U.S. Bancorp's northern California unit also recently added 20 Bank of America and Security Pacific branches. The holding company had $19.3 billion in assets on June 30.
