President Obama is mulling a plan that would allow homeowners who have fallen behind on their mortgages to rent their own home instead of facing eviction, Reuters reported, citing sources.
The Treasury Department is considering new measures to save jobless homeowners from having their homes foreclosed, Reuters said on its Web site, citing a U.S. administration source.
An earlier proposal — put forth by an economist — called for a bankruptcy judge to determine what an appropriate rental was for the property.
