VeriFone Holdings Inc. has requested a 15-day extension to submit its annual report for fiscal 2008, which ended Oct. 31.
The San Jose payments terminal maker announced its filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission Tuesday and said that it expects to issue its annual report by Jan. 14. VeriFone said the delay stemmed from a continuing analysis of how a fourth-quarter impairment would affect its earnings for the fiscal year.
VeriFone has had earlier difficulties, starting with errors in financial reports from the first fiscal quarter of 2007 that delayed some earnings reports and required it to restate others.
