PHOENIX - Vital Merchant Services, the terminal management subsidiary of Vital Processing Services, has awarded Hypercom Corp. a $6 million contract for card payment terminals.
Under the deal, Vital Merchant Services is installing the Phoenix company's terminals in its customers' stores nationwide. The machines are from Hypercom's epic ICE line of touch-screen card payment terminals and Web appliances.
"Now Vital Processing Services clients can buy Hypercom's card payment terminals directly through Vital Merchant Services at a cost-effective volume discount," said Keith Smith, president and chief executive officer of Vital Merchant Services, Sacramento, Calif. "Hypercom's ICE terminals are a good solution for retail stores, restaurants, hotels and travel providers, and will help them to maintain their competitive edge in the retail marketplace."
Hypercom's epic ICE terminals can accommodate electronic signature and receipt capture, e-mail, on-screen advertising, interactive coupons, and cash management reporting through a standard browser, as well as secure credit, debit, and smart card functions.
