Wachovia Corp.'s insurance arm bought a Greenville, S.C. insurance provider.

Wachovia Insurance Services Inc. announced Monday it has bought The Puckett Group, which provides insurance and risk products and services. The price was not disclosed.

Puckett has 11 employees who will remain in Greenville and operate under the Wachovia Insurance Services brand.

Wachovia Insurance Services is the 11th-largest insurance broker in the with $400 million of annual revenue and annual premium placements exceeding $4 billion.

Wachovia Insurance Services has more than 1,400 employees in 16 states and the District of Columbia. The company markets property-casualty insurance-brokerage services, risk-management consulting, employee-benefits and compensation consulting and life insurance.
