Wachovia Corp.'s insurance arm bought a Greenville, S.C., insurance provider.
Wachovia Insurance Services Inc. has bought Puckett Group, which provides insurance and risk products and services. The price was not disclosed.
Puckett has 11 employees, who will remain in Greenville and operate under the Wachovia Insurance Services brand.
Wachovia Insurance Services is the nation's 11th-largest insurance broker, and the largest bank-owned one, with $400 million of annual revenue and annual premium placements exceeding $4 billion.
The unit, which announced the acquisition Monday, has more than 1,400 employees in 16 states and the District of Columbia. It markets property/casualty insurance brokerage services, risk-management consulting, employee benefits and compensation consulting, and life insurance.
