Deutsche Bank AG is thinking of re-entering the warehouse lending business, according to industry advisers.
The German company would be the latest new entrant in a business that two years ago had just a handful of players. A press time, Deutsche had not returned multiple calls about the matter.
Since January several regional and community banks have entered the warehouse lending arena, but have only extended credit in their bank footprint. Deutsche's plans are said to be more national in scope.
Chris George, who runs CMG Mortgage of San Ramon, Calif., said that he has not heard the Deutsche Bank name among warehouse lenders contacting him. But, he said, "I'm getting a lot of calls from community banks that want to lend me money."
