Did Elizabeth Warren make a serious political misstep on the campaign trail last week?
Warren backed off of statements she made that her work over the years had "created much of the intellectual foundation" for the Occupy Wall Street protests.
Warren later clarified that she meant to say that she had long been protesting Wall Street abuses.
Although she supports the protestors, Warren said they must follow the law.
But the comments provided Republicans with an opportunity to tie Warren to the violence that has cropped up at some Occupy protests across the country.
A new television commercial from the Massachusetts Republican Party contrasts Warren's comments with comments from protestors that capitalism "needs to be torn down and gotten rid of" and "Marxism is the way to go."
The spot recycled previous comments from Warren that she "has thrown rocks at people that I think are in the wrong."
It closes with, "Elizabeth Warren: too divisive, too radical."
