Wells Fargo Names David Julian Its New Chief Auditor

David Julian of Wells Fargo & Co. is back in familiar territory.

Wells has named Julian, 50, its next chief auditor — a title he held at Wachovia Corp.

He will succeed Kevin McCabe, 58, who has been chief auditor at Wells since 2002. McCabe plans to retire at the end of June, the San Francisco company said Wednesday.

Julian joined Wachovia in 1997. He was chief auditor there prior to its takeover by Wells Fargo in 2008. At Wachovia, he also served as chief operating officer for finance, corporate controller and principal accounting officer and director of corporate accounting and reporting.

At Wells Fargo, Julian has served as head of corporate credit services and most recently was the head of market and institutional risk. Julian will report to Chief Executive John Stumpf and stay in Charlotte, N.C.
