Wesbanco to Acquire An Ohio Institution

WHEELING, W. Va. - Wesbanco Inc. said it has a definitive agreement to acquire First National Bank of Barnesville, Ohio, and merge it into a Wesbanco subsidiary.

Wesbanco agreed to convert each share of the Barnesville bank's common stock into 12 shares of Wesbanco common. Also, two First National directors will join Wesbanco upon consummation of the transaction, which is expected in the second quarter of 1992.

The merger remains subject to approval of regulators and First National Bank of Barnesville shareholders.

The Ohio bank has $141 million in assets, which would be added to Wesbanco's $718 million. Wesbanco has two other acquisitions pending - of Albright Bancorp of Kingwood, W.Va., and the Bank of Follansbee.
