Woodforest National Extends Pulse Deal

Woodforest National Bank of The Woodlands, Tex., has extended a debit processing agreement with Pulse EFT Association of Houston.

Pulse, the debit unit of Discover Financial Services LLC, announced the contract Tuesday but did say how long it was. Woodforest National, a $2.4 billion-asset unit of Woodforest Financial Group Inc., has used Pulse to route its automated teller machine transactions since 1982.

Woodforest has more than 36 branches in Texas, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Robert E. Marling Jr., Woodforest National's chief executive, said in a Pulse press release that the bank's relationship with the Houston Pulse "is central to our ability to serve debit cardholders by providing them with reliable access to their deposits at ATMs and POS terminals."
