Zions Rolls Out Mobile Banking

Zions Bancorporation is introducing a new mobile banking and payments application that will be customizable to its individual bank brands while also integrating mobile authentication into its existing online RSA/Passmark security system.

The $53 billion-asset Zions is building out services on the mFoundry financial services platform, which has a following among larger banks looking for a customizable platform for a mobile application. Zions didn’t announce the extent of its mobile play, such as whether it will include all levels of the “triple play” of SMS text-based banking options, mobile browser compatibility and a downloadable application.

Zions has operations in 500 bank offices across 10 states, including Amegy Bank of Texas, California Bank & Trust, National Bank of Arizona, Nevada State Bank, The Commerce Bank of Oregon, The Commerce Bank of Washington, Vectra Bank Colorado and its flagship Zions First National Bank in both Utah and Idaho. The deal also will include services for customers of its Zions Direct bank on the Web.
