Zions Signs Mobile Deal with mFoundry

Zions Bancorp. plans to offer mobile banking services using technology from mFoundry Inc.

The Sausalito, Calif., banking technology vendor said Zions expects to introduce the services at all of its eight retail banking subsidiaries as well as its Zions Direct online banking unit.

The mFoundry software lets people view their balances and account histories on their mobile phones, pay bills, transfer funds between accounts, and find automated teller machines, among other capabilities.

Zions, of Salt Lake City, said it selected mFoundry in part because its software could be easily integrated into Zion's core banking system and enables it to offer services branded with each of its unit's names.

Drew Sievers, mFoundry's chief executive, said in a press release Tuesday that the agreement with Zions "further supports the market's preference for more flexible and open mobile banking solutions."
