Payments Business Part Of Intuit's Small-Business Effort

Intuit Inc., the company that produces QuickBooks accounting software, is reorganizing its small-business products to become part of a new unit called the Small Business Ecosystem division, the company announced Wednesday. Mountain View, Calif.-based Intuit owns two independent sales organizations, Innovative Merchant Solutions, which is based in Calabasas, Calif., and Camarillo, Calif.-based Electronic Clearing House Inc. Intuit says its QuickBooks products and a payroll product also will be part of the division. Intuit bought Electronic Clearing House in 2007 (CardLine, 12/20/07) and Innovative Merchant Solutions in 2003 (CardLine, 9/3/03).
