Alipay Signs Prepaid Deal With Chinese Online Gaming Firm

Chinese payment-services provider Alipay.com says it has signed a deal with China-based online-game operator Giant to provide prepaid online payment services to game players. Alipay is the payment affiliate of China-based e-commerce portal Alibaba.com. To use the service gamers must apply for an online Alipay account. Participants can use the service to purchase or add value to prepaid cards for online play. Alipay says it has more than 80 million customers who make an average of 1.5 million daily transactions. Alipay says it has signed payment-services deals with 10 of the top 15 online game operators in China, according to an Alipay statement.
