AT&T, Vantiv Team to Sell Payment Products for Tablets, Phones

AT&T and Vantiv have partnered to offer mobile card readers and in-store payment technology.

The offerings include Vantiv Mobile Accept from AT&T, a mobile app that uses a card reader to enable businesses to swipe credit, debit and prepaid cards from smartphones and tablet. Another product, Vantiv Mobile Checkout from AT&T, is a tablet-based, software driven service that enables businesses to accept payments and access business data.

The companies also offer a cash drawer, countertop receipt printer, tablet stand and encrypted card readers.

The two companies will target businesses such as home technicians, restaurant owners and retailers that have a need to receive payments at the point of service, Vantiv and AT&T say in a Jan. 14 press release.

Vantiv earlier this year partnered with NCR to offer a suite of digital payments for businesses. Vantiv also entered into a recent partnership with Microsoft to offer payments across a number of different channels.
