The Commonwealth Bank of Australia plans to install anti-skimming devices on ATMs. The financial institution also plans to offer "real-time automated telephone alerts for suspicious transactions," the banks says in a statement. The bank did not say how many ATMs it deploys, and immediate comment was not available. The announcement comes less than two weeks after reports in the Australian press that one of the bank's ATMs deployed in Southeast Queensland had a card-skimming device for about a week before the bank noticed.
