Westpac New Zealand Ltd. on March 3 deployed two mobile NCR Corp. ATMs in the city of Christchurch, which was devastated by a Feb. 22 earthquake.
The two mobile ATMs will accommodate cardholders of all banks, including those of ANZ Ltd. and National Bank Ltd., according to a press release. Westpac will not impose surcharges on noncustomers.
Consumers may access the two mobile ATMs every day between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The trucks housing the machines will have red Westpac banners.
The Christchurch region had 13 bank branches and 52 ATMs operating before the earthquake. Some of them were destroyed in the earthquake, and consumers there were having difficulty getting to the ATMs still operating.
