Barclaycard has launched a Web site that supports the credit card issuer's recent sponsorship push in the music industry. The site, barclaycardunwind.com, enables customers to register to gain access to "reserved tickets, one-off exclusive gigs, VIP treatment and competitions to win tickets and music collateral," United Kingdom-based Barclaycard says in a statement. Barclaycard, an arm of Barclays PLC, earlier this year signed a four-year sponsorship deal with UK-based Global Radio. That deal followed one that turned the UK's Mercury Prize music award into the Barclaycard Mercury Prize and a concert-sponsorship agreement with United States-based Live Nation. Barclaycard wants the deals to support its contactless-payment effort, which has resulted in the issuance of some 1.5 million contactless credit cards.
