Barclays Launches Online Funds-Transfer Service In India

United Kingdom-based bank Barclays PLC says it has introduced an online funds-transfer service with India-based remittance service provider TimesofMoney, part of India-based media company The Times Group. The organizations will market the service to nonresident Indians living in the UK. The service enables those consumers to send between 250 UK pounds (US$367 or 288 euros) and 3,000 UK pounds to Barclays Bank accountholders in India, according to a statement from Barclays. A spokesperson for Barclays did not provide additional details.
