Now, BBVA Compass has found another non-banking use for branches: a spot for Amazon shoppers to pick up their packages.
The bank announced Monday it is piloting Amazon Locker at 11 of its branches in the greater Austin, Texas, area. The lockers, often found in convenience stores and copy shops, are the online retailer's solution for people who prefer not to have packages sent to their homes.

BBVA referred to the pilot as in keeping with its "laser focus on innovation and collaborating with those exploring new and better ways of delivering customer solutions."
"BBVA Compass preaches disruption from within and without when it comes to creating the best possible solutions for its customers," said Andres Cueto, a BBVA Compass retail executive, in a press release. "Amazon is much the same, constantly pushing the envelope in terms of providing new and differentiated products and services."
The lockers are accessible 24 hours a day.
