Blackbaud MobilePay is using mobile commerce technology provider Roam, an Ingenico subsidiary, to support a mobile point of sale system for nonprofit payments.
Blackbaud's nonprofit clients will be able to accept credit or debit card payments via smartphones or tablets at an event or in the field.
"We found Blackbaud MobilePay incredibly easy to use, and it enabled us to process more payments, while keeping costs to a minimum," said Anna Patty, development and communications coordinator at Four Oaks of Iowa, a nonprofit child welfare organization, in a Sept. 30 press release. "Plus, our supporters see us as more professional and an organization with which they can entrust their charitable contributions. Originally, a major donor had wanted their community outreach event to benefit a different organization each year. As a direct result of using MobilePay, the donor has now chosen our organization as the recipient of the proceeds for all future years."
