Blackhawk to Offer Digital Gift Cards at Coinstar Kiosks

Prepaid payment network Blackhawk is offering a selection of electronic gift codes at Coinstar's coin-counting kiosks.

These codes can be redeemed at Blackhawk-issuing retailers, either in-store, online or via mobile devices. Retailers in the program include Gap, Apple's iTunes, Lowe's, Southwest Airlines, Toys R Us and Babies R Us.

Coinstar, a unit of Outerwall, has about 20,300 kiosks deployed in the U.S. It also has a partnership with PayPal to enable Coinstar machines to load PayPal accounts.

Blackhawk provides gift cards, airtime cards and general purpose reloadable cards across a global network of more than 100,000 stores. The company purchased InteliSpend on Nov. 12 to enter the corporate prepaid market.
