BlueSnap Mixes Phone Calls, Mobile Web in New Platform

BlueSnap has launched a new system called ChargeLink to help businesses close sales over the phone.

ChargeLink allows merchants to email a pre-filled payment form to customers while taking orders over the phone. The forms, which are provided through BlueSnap's virtual payment terminal, are compatible with any  Web-enabled device.

ChargeLink prevents customers from having to provide payment details aloud. It may also reduce the cost of compliance with the Payment Card Industry data security standard, the company said in a Dec. 2 press release.

"Although commerce is increasingly online and mobile, it's still crucial for businesses to provide fast and secure payments for shoppers who call in," said Ralph Dangelmaier, BlueSnap's chief executive, in the release.

BlueSnap, of Waltham, Mass., recently announced a partnership with First Data, the Atlanta-based payment processor, to increase its payment acceptance rate. The company this spring also added tax rate services to its merchant offerings, in an effort to boost global sales.
