Visa Inc. and eight North American financial institutions – PNC Bank, SunTrust Bank Inc., U.S. Bancorp, Wachovia Corp., and Wells Fargo Bank in the United States, and Royal Bank of Canada, TD Bank Financial Group, and Vancity in Canada – plan to run a pilot program with up to 2,000 participants to test the delivery of real-time notification alerts on Visa accounts, Visa announced today.

Discover Financial Services today unveiled Discover Income Gap Protection, which enables its credit and debit card customers to buy short-term disability or unemployment coverage through Central States Indemnity Co. of Omaha.

London-based Travelex Group today launched the Travelex Global Rewards Card. The card enables customers to earn discounts on the exchange rate or commission for all foreign-currency transactions at its offices located in 20 countries around the world.

Prepaid card payment processor i2C Inc. has hired Jon Round as senior vice president, general manager prepaid.
