Cardtronics Inc. has extended its ATM –deployment agreement with Costco Warehouse Corp. to include an additional 41 Costco locations in Washington and Oregon, both companies announced yesterday. "With this expansion, Cardtronics ATMs will be available in 97% of the over 400 Costco warehouse locations in the United States," Houston-based Cardtronics wrote in a press release. Issaquah, Wash.-based Costco operates a total of 550 warehouses, including 403 in the U.S. and Puerto Rico; 76 in Canada; 21 in the UK; six in Korea; five in Taiwan; eight in Japan and 31 in Mexico. Cardtronics has installed only cash-dispensing ATMs inside Costco stores. Cardtronics, the world's largest ATM independent sales organization based on the number of ATMs it owns and manages, announced the extension agreement a few days after the company said it experienced a slowdown in bank-branding agreements during the fourth quarter. Neither Costco nor Cardtronics disclosed the terms of the latest agreement. The two companies first began working together in 2003.
