Cayan to Support EMV, NFC Payments for PetLinx

PetLinx, a New Zealand startup that provides software for pet companies, has contracted Boston-based Cayan (formerly Merchant Warehouse) to provide payments support.

Cayan will integrate customer-facing payments software into PetLinx's service to make sure the company is prepared for the U.S. EMV liability shift in October. The new software will also allow PetLinx to accept Apple Pay and Android Pay, which rely on Near Field Communication signals to transmit payment instructions from consumers' smartphones.

"PetLinx has a diverse customer group that includes mom-and-pop businesses, mobile services and larger retail brick-and-mortars," said Laurence Smith, the chief executive of PetLinx's parent company, Software Revolutions, in an Aug. 12 news release. "When we saw how simply Cayan's Genius solution could grow with our customers, while preparing them for important security measures like the EMV deadline and PCI compliance, it was an easy choice to integrate."
