After an eCheck transaction clears, CardCash customers will receive an image of the eCheck on their bank statement, Los Angeles-based CheckAlt said in a Dec. 29 press release.

CheckAlt said the check image makes it easier to identify and track purchases when compared to the alphanumeric string generated by an Automated Clearing House transaction.

CardCash.com, a secondary gift card marketplace, is offering customers an extra 2% discount off its gift cards for using eChecks.

CheckAlt develops products based on the Check 21 Act, the federal law designed more than a decade ago to speed commerce and end reliance on paper checks. To that end, CheckAlt acquired ERAS, a Check21 software firm, from Diebold Inc. in June.
