China Unionpay ATM Business Expands To 45 Countries

China UnionPay's ATM business has expanded to 45 countries and regions, company president Xu Luode said in a statement. UnionPay needed to expand the ATM network to accommodate its cardholders traveling overseas, Luode adds. UnionPay's business has increased significantly in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Switzerland and the United States, he says. Also, UnionPay cardholders can make direct purchases with their cards in 27 countries, according to Luode. Approximately 40 financial institutions have issued more than 270,000 UnionPay cards to date.
