Industrial and Commercial Bank of China will use technology from Aconite, a United Kingdom-based provider of smart card services, to manage its smart card program, the firm says in a statement. The bank issues chip credit cards in China that conform to the global EMV antifraud standard. The bank signed the deal with Datacard Asia Pacific, an Aconite partner. The bank plans to use the technology to load new applications onto smart cards that it already has issued. Bank officials were unavailable because of a holiday in China.
