Khan joined Citi today and reports directly to Mark Torkos, CIO, Global Consumer Technology. He will have interesting projects to dig into, including Citi’s role in the Google Wallet.

In a statement today commenting on the hire, a Citi spokeswoman declared the bank’s grand mobile ambitions. “In line with Citi’s goal to deliver the best customer experience across all channels and products, and to be the number one digital financial services company in the world, we created a mobile technology leadership position to lead our mobile development and delivery efforts globally. We are very pleased that Omar Khan will fill that role.”
