Citibank Bahrain is collaborating with a travel operator in Bahrain to introduce an interest-free card-payment initiative for travelers leaving the country, the bank announced Nov. 29.
Citi says it has entered into a strategic deal with Dadabhai Travel Services to offer it credit cardholders the ability to travel to any destination using an installment plan that charges 0% interest for up to six months on holiday packages and for up to three months for airline tickets.
Unlike typical revolving plans, the installment option will break up the cost of each transaction into six or three equal amounts, payable monthly.
To participate, Citi’s cardholders must visit the main office of Dadabhai Travel in Manama or any of the six Dadabhai Travel branch outlets in Bahrain and place a request for converting their card transactions into 0% interest installments.
This payment scheme is immediately available to holders of all three of Citi’s Visa-branded cards issued in Bahrain.
