Citibank Indonesia says it has "revamped" a contactless-payment card to make it appealing to more of the country's young and "tech-savvy" consumers. At least 1,000 merchants in Indonesia will be able to accept the card by early next year. The "Citi Clear Card" carries the contactless payWave  application from Visa Inc. Consumers can will be able to use the card to make contactless purchases of 200,000 Indonesian rupiahs (US$16.70 or 13 euros) or less. The bank also will offer cardholders access to a Web site that offers social networking and which features information about music, nightclubs, restaurants and shopping, Citi says. Citi says it has 1.6 million credit card customers in Indonesia. The bank did not respond to CardLine Global requests for comments.
