Concardis rolls out digital payments for small businesses in Germany

Months after Denmark’s Nets A/S completed its merger with Germany-based Concardis, the combined operation is rolling out a broad new digital payment service tailored for small businesses in Germany.

SmartPay supports in-store mobile or card payment acceptance through a single integration, giving merchants control via an app or desktop browser.

The move targets small businesses in a cash-centric region by providing a service to handle any type of digital payment with one-click access to transaction reports and customer service.

“The idea behind SmartPay is to offer small and medium-sized merchants and service providers the easiest way to accept cashless payments,” said Thomas Gregory, Concardis’ chief product officer, in a release.

SmartPay includes hardware, software and adopts Nets Group’s brand appearance for consistency throughout the region, and plans calls for expanding the service to Austria and Switzerland soon, according to the release.

Nets and Concardis announced a merger last year; the deal was completed early this year, according to the release.
