ControlScan Inc. is offering new services it said would streamline the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard compliance process for small and midsize merchants.
“Our expanded security-consulting services bring added confidence that each business we work with is correctly interpreting the [PCI standard] and taking the proper actions to achieve and maintain compliance, whether they are service providers, [independent sales organizations] and acquirers serving Level 4 merchants or merchants themselves,” Joan Herbig, ControlScan chief executive officer, said in a May 18 press release.
The Alpharetta, Ga.-based compliance-services provider divided the new services into two areas: a Security Assessment service that verifies systems are in place and policy procedures satisfy the PCI standard, and a Security Engineering service that provides technical testing and guidance to clients.
