Diebold Inc. will manage more than 1,100 ATMs in India under an agreement with Axis Bank Ltd., the country’s third-largest private-sector bank, the ATM maker announced March 14.

The North Canton, Ohio-based company will provide incident monitoring, vendor management, cash forecasting and replenishment, caretaker services, consumables management and site maintenance, Diebold noted in news release.

“Delivering these services will help strengthen our relationships with customers,” Naresh Hosangady, Diebold vice president and managing director for South Asia, said in the release. “We are proud to actively partner with Axis.”

Diebold and Axis, of Mumbai, have worked together for several years for ATM upgrades, electronic journal facilities and consumables management, the companies said. Axis operates more than 1,200 branches and more than 5,500 ATMs in India.

Diebold’s India business services more than 18,000 ATMs across the country.
