Discover Financial Services is touting a new advertising campaign, including television and Internet broadband to promote a 5% cash-back bonus on purchases Discover cardholders make at home-improvement stores. The 15-second television spot is airing through April 19. Future spots will focus on other 5% cash-back promotions, including purchases for gas, hotels, theme parks and groceries, the company says. Richmond, Va.-based Martin Agency Inc. helped create the ads. The TV spots will appear on such channels as HGTV and DIY Network. Discover also is using the online channel to promote the rewards deal on such sites as Amazon.com, BobVila.com, abc.com, nbc.com, cbs.com and hulu.com. The Internet broadband ads will allow viewers to click on various items to get more information about the cash-back bonus.
