Dynamic Card Solutions announced Tuesday it is selling bundled software that enables U.S. banks to instantly issue EMV-compliant debit and credit cards for international travel. With EMV Smart Set, financial institutions may issue EMV-compliant chip cards either from a centrally located back office or at a branch. Banks would issue the cards to consumers who travel abroad, says Ron Zanotti, senior vice president at U.S.-based Englewood, Colo.-based Dynamic Card Solutions. "Many U.S.-based cardholders who travel internationally, where EMV cards have become the payment standard, are unable to complete transactions with their magnetic stripe cards," Zanotti says. Banks also would have to purchase hardware to manufacture EMV cards, Kristin Eckmann, a spokesperson says. Eckmann did not immediately know the price of the hardware.
